Chungju Complex Logistics Center No.1 Gains Attention as a 'National-Level Logistics Hub' Amid Chungju City's Logistics Infrastructure Expansion News

Chungju Complex Logistics Center No.1 Co., Ltd. (Co-CEO Ryu Seong-woo) announced on the 17th that investors are paying attention to the news of logistics infrastructure expansion in Chungju City, Chungbuk Province, as it submitted a building permit application to Chungju City Hall at the end of April and is carrying out final preparations aiming for approval by the end of July.

Chungju City secured 300 million KRW in preliminary survey service fees in June for the expansion of the Jungbu Inland Expressway section between Chungju and Yeoju, and announced that it signed a preliminary feasibility study contract with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Once the preliminary feasibility study results are out, a preliminary feasibility investigation will proceed. If the six-lane expansion is realized, it is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and improve the traffic environment around industrial complexes, thereby reducing logistics costs.

Additionally, as Chungju City is promoting the establishment of the Geumga Hadam "Logistics Industrial Complex" by 2026, experts have raised opinions that a "logistics base" should be established in Chungju City due to the rapid increase in nationwide logistics demand. The logistics academia evaluated that Chungju City, being close to the metropolitan area with high cargo volume, geographically located at the center of the country, and equipped with highways, railroads, and airports, should be developed as a nationwide logistics hub.

In response to this news, the development project of Chungju Complex Logistics Center No.1 is also gaining attention. Chungju Complex Logistics Center No.1 will be the first logistics center established in Daesowon-myeon, Chungju, Chungbuk Province, planned to be developed on a site area of 23,444㎡ with a building area of 14,047㎡, parking for 326 vehicles, and a scale of one basement floor and eight above-ground floors.

Ryu Seong-woo, CEO of Chungju Complex Logistics Center No.1, said, “In April, we signed an investment agreement worth 210 billion KRW with Chungju City, and we plan to supply sustainable logistics facilities that meet global top standards, focusing not only on the enlargement and development efficiency of simple logistics facilities.” He added, “Chungju Complex Logistics Center No.1 has excellent transportation accessibility within one hour to Seoul and the metropolitan area’s major consumption zones, and within two hours nationwide. Based on abundant logistics demand including Seochungju New City, Dongchungju Industrial Complex, and future planned Dream Park and Biohealth National Industrial Complex, it will be utilized as a hub for the central region industrial belt,” expressing a positive response to the news of Chungju City’s logistics infrastructure expansion.

CEO Ryu also emphasized, “To create ESG performance, which has recently become an important investment decision indicator for global investors, we plan to enhance value by establishing an ESG logistics center through acquiring LEED v4 BD+C Gold certification for eco-friendly buildings, WELL certification for health and safety of logistics facility workers, and installing solar power.”
