In a hallway of an apartment in Incheon, a man in his 30s wielded a weapon, resulting in the death of his daughter in her 30s and injuries to two others, including a mother in her 60s.
According to the Nonhyeon Police Station in Namdong-gu, Incheon, at 5:54 a.m. on the 17th, a report was received by 112 stating, "A man stabbed his daughter with a weapon" at an apartment in Nonhyeon-dong, Namdong-gu.
Police and fire authorities who arrived at the scene found a man in his 30s, Mr. A, and a woman in her 30s, Ms. B, lying in the apartment hallway in a bleeding state.
At the time of discovery, Ms. B had been stabbed and was in cardiac arrest; she was transported to the hospital but passed away. Mr. A also sustained serious injuries to his chest and back and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Ms. B's mother, Ms. C, in her 60s, also sustained injuries to her hand and is receiving treatment.
Ms. C stated to the police, "My daughter was stabbed by Mr. A after encountering him in front of the house on her way to work." She fled inside the house where her young granddaughter was and reported the incident to the police immediately after Mr. A's attack.
Ms. B and Mr. A were known to each other. The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident, believing that Mr. A attempted self-harm after wielding the weapon against Ms. B and her mother.
