System semiconductor design specialist CoreAsia is showing strong performance. The news that it has signed a contract to provide AI vision processor design services with edge artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor specialist Ambarella appears to be influencing its stock price.
As of 9:49 a.m. on the 17th, CoreAsia is trading at 10,790 KRW, up 5.58% from the previous trading day.
The semiconductor physical design services provided by CoreAsia in the collaboration will be mass-produced using Ambarella's latest CVflow® automotive AI system-on-chip (SoC) with Samsung Foundry's 5-nanometer (nm; 1 nm equals one billionth of a meter) process.
Shin Dong-su, head of CoreAsia's semiconductor division, said, "The collaboration with Ambarella demonstrates CoreAsia's expertise in the cutting-edge automotive system semiconductor field."
Ambarella's Chief Operating Officer (COO) Chan Lee said, "The initial collaboration with CoreAsia has been very successful," adding, "We highly value CoreAsia's extensive design service experience in ultra-fine processes and the capabilities of its global research and development (R&D) centers."
CoreAsia has been continuously collaborating with Ambarella since early last year in various system semiconductor fields using Samsung Foundry's 5-nanometer process. Following the AI vision processor collaboration, they are exploring various options to continue further cooperation.
