S-Oil Supports Content Industry with 'Gudoil' Character

MOU for Supporting Content IP Growth between Korea Creative Content Agency and Content Industry

S-OIL is stepping up to support the content industry.


On the 14th, S-OIL announced on the 17th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Creative Content Agency at the 'Character Licensing Fair 2023' held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to support the co-growth of the domestic content industry.

They agreed to expand mutual cooperation in the field of content intellectual property (IP), including distribution, promotion, and joint planning of promising content from small and medium-sized enterprises.


In June, S-OIL was selected as a platform company for the Korea Creative Content Agency's content IP collaboration production support program, '2023 IP Licensing Build-up.' S-OIL chose 'Doudou,' a character inspired by an undercooked glutinous rice donut, as the matching character IP for S-OIL's 'Gudoil,' and operated a collaboration booth at the Character Licensing Fair. In October, they plan to release a collaborative 3D animation on YouTube.


Jongbeom Ahn, President of S-OIL, said, "The content industry is a field with infinite growth potential that creates high added value through intangible IP," adding, "We will fully support the channels and capabilities the company possesses to create successful content collaboration cases between large and small businesses."
