Dobong-gu Launches Eco-Friendly Sanitary Pest Control Devices at 316 Locations
Maintenance and Installation Completed from April to June Based on March Demand Survey
11 Additional Sanitary Pest Control Devices to be Installed at Wolcheon Neighborhood Park and Others in July
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) has taken proactive measures to combat sanitary pests to prevent damage to residents caused by the earlier activity period of pests due to rapid climate change.
Earlier, in March, the district conducted a demand survey for sanitary pest control devices focusing on areas with high pest occurrences such as streetlights and parks, based on reports from 14 community service centers.
Following the survey results, from April to June, on-site inspections were carried out in vulnerable areas, and maintenance and installation of sanitary pest control devices were completed.
Currently, these devices are operating at 316 locations within the district, including Jungnangcheon Stream, Uicheon Stream, and parks, which are frequently used by residents for leisure activities.
A district official stated, “This comprehensive reorganization of sanitary pest control devices will enable us to proactively prevent damage caused by sanitary pests.”
Additionally, starting mid-July, Dobong-gu plans to install 11 more sanitary pest control devices along Dobong Stream and other locations, including the 2023 resident-participation budget project for installing devices at Wolcheon Neighborhood Park.
Mayor Oh Eon-seok of Dobong-gu said, “By operating eco-friendly sanitary pest control devices in places frequently used by residents, we will effectively eliminate sanitary pests that cause various infectious diseases, ensuring that residents can enjoy safe and pleasant leisure activities.”
