Daegu Dong-gu Office Creates 7,500㎡ Urban Forest at Ansim Station

A city forest aimed at achieving carbon neutrality has been established at Ansim Station in Daegu Innovation City.


The city forest is located along the riverside road at the entrance of Innovation City, covering an area of 7,500㎡. It is planted with 3 pine trees, 143 trees including Emerald Green, Blue Angel, and Moon Glow, as well as 4,500 shrubs, making it a new landmark within Innovation City.

Daegu Dong-gu Office Creates 7,500㎡ Urban Forest at Ansim Station On the 14th, Daegu Dong-gu Office held a plaque unveiling ceremony for the creation of the Ansim Station Urban Forest in Daegu Innovation City, attended by Kang Dae-sik, a member of the People Power Party, Yoon Seok-jun, head of Dong-gu Office, employees of public institutions, the Daegu Life Forest Corporation, and local residents.

The newly created city forest site was provided by Daegu Dong-gu Office, which also offered administrative support, while Korea Gas Corporation sponsored the project costs. The project was undertaken by Daegu Life Forest.


Daegu Dong-gu Office expects the city forest to provide carbon absorption benefits and a refreshing environment for citizens, as well as serve as a connecting green space.


Along with the creation of the city forest, Daegu Dong-gu Office held a plaque unveiling ceremony on the 14th. The ceremony was attended by District Mayor Yoon Seok-jun, People Power Party member Kang Dae-sik, Korea Gas Corporation Vice President Lim Jong-soon, Korea Asset Management Corporation Chairman Kwon Nam-joo, and other institutional representatives and local residents.


Yoon Seok-jun, the district mayor, said, “The creation of the city forest will make Dong-gu a more pleasant place. I thank the public institutions, civic organizations, and local residents who participated in the project.”
