Relatively lighter rainfall of 20 to 60mm is forecasted for Seoul, Incheon, northern inland and mountainous areas of Gyeonggi, and Gangwon excluding the southern inland and mountainous areas. Rainfall of 30 to 120mm is expected in southern Gyeonggi, southern inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, Jeju Island excluding mountainous areas, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo.

The stationary front, currently moving northward at a slow pace, is expected to linger over one area for a long time, bringing very heavy rain, the KMA stated.

Until the afternoon of the day, very heavy rain of 30 to 60mm per hour will pour in the Jeonnam region and Gyeongsang region, and from the afternoon of the day until the early morning of the 17th, Jeonbuk is expected to receive rainfall of 30 to 60mm per hour. The Chungcheong region and Gyeongbuk region will experience rainfall around 30mm per hour from the early morning to daytime of the 17th, and heavy rain of 30 to 60mm per hour from the early morning to daytime of the 18th. Some places in Chungcheong, Gyeongbuk, and Jeonbuk may receive rainfall as heavy as 80mm per hour.

The KMA defines rain with an hourly precipitation of 30mm or more as "very heavy rain." Based on the current forecast, rainfall exceeding this level is expected. Rainfall accumulating 50mm or more in one hour, or 90mm or more in three hours, is classified as an "extreme downpour."

Due to the expectation of strong and heavy rain, the KMA urged people to refrain from camping and to avoid entering riverside walking paths or underground passages. They also emphasized caution regarding flooding of low-lying areas and farmland, overflow of rivers and irrigation channels, backflow of sewage and stormwater drains, reservoir collapse, river embankment erosion, and safety accidents caused by strong winds affecting facilities.
