Andong City (Mayor Kwon Ki-chang) and the Andong City Commercial District Revitalization Promotion Team (Director Woo Young-jin) are recruiting prospective entrepreneurs to participate in the 'Startup Support Project Utilizing Vacant Stores in the Original Downtown Commercial District' until the 26th.
This project, led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups as part of the 'Commercial District Renaissance Project,' aims not only to provide a stepping stone for prospective entrepreneurs but also to create hot spots that will bring new vitality to the original downtown, such as an art workshop specialized street and a global food specialty street.
The recruitment fields include art-related workshops and studios, online non-face-to-face sales specialized businesses, global specialty restaurants, exhibition and experience centers, and other businesses that help revitalize the original downtown commercial district. Approximately 10 prospective entrepreneurs will be selected through a screening process.
Selected prospective entrepreneurs must join the merchants' association of the respective area and will receive up to 12 million KRW per store, including a startup support fund of 10 million KRW (50% of rent, with 20% of signage and facility costs self-funded) and 2 million KRW for promotional marketing expenses. Additionally, the support period can be extended by one year after evaluation.
An official from Andong City stated, “We hope many prospective entrepreneurs with excellent items and creative, unique ideas will show great interest,” and added, “We are planning various policies to create an attractive original downtown commercial district that everyone wants to visit.”
