"I'm sorry for causing concern due to an unfortunate incident"
Choi Hwan-hee (stage name G Flat), the son of the late Choi Jin-sil, recently spoke out regarding the conflict between his grandmother and younger sister that arose from a reported case of trespassing.
On the 15th, Choi opened his statement on Instagram by introducing himself as "Choi Hwan-hee, son of the late Choi Jin-sil, grandson of my grandmother, and older brother of Choi Jun-hee."
He said, "I cautiously write this post because I feel it is my duty to deeply apologize to everyone who has loved and cherished my mother and still remembers her fondly despite the unfortunate incident that recently occurred in our family." He continued, "I sincerely apologize and feel only regret for causing worry to many who would have been happy to see only joyful moments."
Choi added, "This incident has become an opportunity for our family to feel and realize many things," and "As I have now reached adulthood, it has made me newly aware of my role as the head of the family." He also said, "I cautiously think that the emotional turmoil between parents and children, which is common in many families, has just hit us a bit harder. Since my elderly grandmother and my still immature sister Jun-hee are both under my care, I believe all responsibility lies with me."
In conclusion, he stated, "I will strive to ensure that our family matters do not cause concern to the public in the future," and "I consider all the attention as the public’s love for my mother, and I will show growth with the responsibility that love entails."
Earlier, on the 9th, Choi Jun-hee reported her maternal grandmother, Jeong Ok-soon, to the Seocho Police Station in Seoul for trespassing. Jeong is accused of visiting the apartment jointly owned by the Choi siblings in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on the 7th and staying there for two days without consent. The apartment is known to be solely occupied by Choi Hwan-hee, while Choi Jun-hee is reported to live independently in a separate officetel.
Meanwhile, on the 13th, Choi Jun-hee appeared on the YouTube channel "Caracula Detective Agency" and revealed that she had submitted a letter requesting no punishment for her grandmother. During the broadcast, she said, "I never expected things to turn out this way," and "I am sorry for not attempting to have a more mature and proper conversation with my grandmother. If her heart softens, I would like to visit her home later and formally apologize."
