As heavy rain continues to cause damage mainly in the central region, more and stronger rain is expected, so thorough precautions must be taken to prevent any damage.

As of 5 p.m. on the 15th, rain is falling at a rate of 10 to 30 mm per hour in northern Gyeonggi, northern Gangwon, the western coast of Jeolla, and parts of inland Gyeongsang.

Heavy rain warnings have been issued for northern Gyeonggi, inland Gangwon (excluding central inland), Gangwon mountainous areas, Chungcheong, Honam, inland North Gyeongsang, and northwestern inland South Gyeongsang.

The rain cloud band currently producing rain is moving northeast at 60 km/h and is exiting the area, but a rain cloud band developed over the southern West Sea on the stationary front is moving toward the west coast at the same speed, so on the 16th, heavy rain of 30 to 60 mm per hour is expected mainly in Chungcheong and the southern regions.

In particular, from early morning to morning on the 16th, some areas in Jeonnam and Gyeongnam will experience rainfall exceeding 70 mm per hour.

The hourly concentrated rainfall areas and intensities are as follows: until the evening of the 15th, northern Gyeonggi, inland northern Gangwon, and northern Gangwon mountainous areas will see 30 to 60 mm per hour; until the 16th, southern Gyeonggi, inland southern Gangwon, southern Gangwon mountainous areas, Chungcheong, Honam (excluding the southern coast), and northern inland North Gyeongsang will have 30 to 60 mm per hour; on the 16th, southern coast of Jeonnam, southern Gyeongsangbuk, and Gyeongsangnam will have 30 to 60 mm per hour; and from early morning to morning on the 17th, central regions (excluding eastern Gangwon), Jeonbuk, and northern inland North Gyeongsang will experience 30 to 70 mm per hour.

According to the forecast announced by the Korea Meteorological Administration at 5 p.m. on the same day, additional rainfall until the 16th is expected to be 50 to 150 mm in Chungcheong, southern regions, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo (with some areas in the southern regions excluding southern Chungcheong and eastern coastal Gyeongsang exceeding 200 mm), 30 to 80 mm in inland Gyeonggi, inland Gangwon, Gangwon mountainous areas, southern Jeju, and Jeju mountainous areas (with inland and mountainous Gangwon excluding Gyeonggi and central regions reaching over 100 mm, and Jeju mountainous areas exceeding 150 mm), and 5 to 60 mm in Seoul, Incheon, eastern coastal Gangwon, and Jeju (excluding southern and mountainous areas).

Additionally, rainfall on the 17th is expected to be 5 to 30 mm along the East Sea coast and 30 to 80 mm in other areas (with central regions, Jeonbuk, and northern inland North Gyeongsang reaching over 120 mm).

Strong winds should also be prepared for along with the rain. Until the 16th, strong gusts of around 55 km/h (15 m/s) are expected mainly along the southern coast.

Regarding the sea, strong winds of 30 to 60 km/h (9 to 16 m/s) will blow in the southern East Sea offshore area until tonight and in the central East Sea offshore area until the morning of the 16th, with waves rising very high at 1.5 to 4.0 meters.
