Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 14th that it signed a 'Future Education District Business Agreement' with the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education to cultivate future competencies among children and adolescents.

The agreement ceremony was attended by 25 officials related to the business, including Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, Cho Hee-yeon, Superintendent of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, and Lee Yang-soon, Director of the Western Education Support Office.

According to the agreement, Eunpyeong-gu, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, the Western Education Support Office, and local youth organizations will jointly promote the 'Eunpyeong Future Education District' project to nurture future talents.

The 'Eunpyeong Future Education District' is a project aimed at practicing the 'establishment of a community-centered future education ecosystem' where schools and local communities actively communicate and cooperate.

The core goals of the 'Eunpyeong Future Education District' this year are ▲ operating a regional curriculum in collaboration with the local community ▲ solving educational issues in Eunpyeong-gu based on future education ▲ establishing an educational governance system that supports the happy growth of children and adolescents.

With the vision of 'Future Education at the Center of Tomorrow,' 17 detailed projects will be implemented across 4 areas to help children and adolescents develop the competencies to live in the future.

The four areas are ▲ operation of the Eunpyeong regional curriculum ▲ career development for children and adolescents ▲ establishment of an educational safety net ▲ operation of public-private-academic governance.

The 17 detailed projects will be promoted according to local characteristics, such as 'Eunpyeong Daejeon,' where university student mentors share stories about their majors with youth, and 'Going to School through the Village,' which reorganizes youth facilities currently used by adults into youth-only spaces.

During the agreement ceremony, time was also spent discussing local educational issues. Each institution promised mutual cooperation on establishing middle schools in Nokbeon and Eungam-dong areas of Eunpyeong-gu, participating in school facility opening support projects, and the successful hosting of the Seoul International Children's Film Festival.

Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, "We will continue to cooperate with the Office of Education to nurture talents equipped with the character and competencies suitable for future society and to find optimal solutions to local educational issues," adding, "We will do our best to establish a future education system tailored to local characteristics."
