The broadcast, held at the station's public hall, featured 50 citizens from various sectors including high school and university students, young job seekers, housewives, farmers, small business owners, public institution employees, and senior citizens as questioners and audience members.
The program will begin with reflections on the first anniversary and changes in the public service sector, followed by a format where the host and citizens take turns asking questions and Mayor Yoon responds and discusses current issues.
The dialogue is divided into two parts: the major achievements of the past year and the future administrative goals and directions.
Part 1 covers welfare policies responding to an aging and low birthrate society, education policies to realize the pledge of a premium education city, youth package support projects such as free rental housing supply, and major achievements in the agricultural sector.
It also introduces solutions to key issues in the innovation city such as vacant stores and commercial district decline, urban odor problems, and policies to revitalize returning farming and rural migration to attract population inflow.
Part 2 presents Naju’s vision through future and advanced industry development, including the new Yeongsan River Renaissance following the selection of the Yeongsan River integrated river project, the era of 5 million Naju tourists, and the attraction of a super-strong laser research facility.
Mayor Yoon will express his views on the demolition of the video theme park related to the construction of the Namdo Uprising History Museum and the controversy over the reduction of funding for Korea Energy Engineering University.
As a local government head with a background in the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, he is expected to share his unique know-how on consecutive national project selections and securing national funds, as well as have candid conversations with high school students facing career concerns.
Mayor Yoon said, “I hope this opportunity for candid dialogue with citizens will allow us to share the achievements of the past year of the 8th local government and communicate Naju’s future vision.”
He added, “I thank all the citizens who took part in the dialogue despite their busy lives and offered valuable opinions. I will do my best during the remaining term to make Naju a happy city with the highest quality of life and a leading top city.”
