Japanese broadcaster and influencer Ryuchell (real name Higaryuji) was found dead.

On the 12th, local Japanese media and the BBC reported that Ryuchell was found dead at the office of his agency in Tokyo, Japan. According to reports, police were dispatched around 5:30 PM after receiving a report from his manager. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed, but the police are investigating it as a possible suicide.

Ryuchell was an influencer active in various fields such as modeling, singing, acting, and business. In 2016, he married fellow model Peko (real name Okuhira Tetsuko) and was raising a son, but they divorced in August last year. During this process, Peko revealed that Ryuchell did not identify as male in terms of gender identity.

Although he faced criticism after coming out following marriage and having a child, Ryuchell became one of the most influential sexual minorities (LGBT) in Japan. He gained fame by showcasing makeup sessions and trendy women's fashion through SNS and YouTube.

However, as he became famous, his private life was exposed, leading to increased criticism and emotional distress.

Peko and their son are currently reported to be overseas. It was especially heartbreaking as the day of Ryuchell's death was the day after his son's fifth birthday. Peko's side has not yet made any significant statements regarding Ryuchell's death.
