The main inspection contents included ▲strengthening patrol activities in disaster-prone areas (steep slopes, flood-prone areas, collapse-prone areas, etc.) ▲securing an organic emergency contact network to enable rapid evacuation of residents in risky areas ▲organizing emergency duty teams according to weather conditions ▲strengthening the emergency response system through disaster text messages and village broadcasts ▲checking various repair facilities (sewer maintenance, drainage pump stations, etc.) to prevent flooding and other preparatory measures.
County Governor Kang Jong-man urged, “We will conduct pre- and post-inspections of landslide and flood-prone areas and workplaces to remove risk factors in advance. Especially, heavy rainfall has occurred in Bulgap-myeon this month, so we will do our best to prevent flooding of farmland caused by the overflow of the Bulgapcheon watershed through organic cooperation with the Rural Development Administration for water level control.”
He also emphasized strengthening the emergency response system by thoroughly checking the emergency contact network of responsible officials and village heads to enable prompt response to areas at risk of damage, including preemptive evacuation of residents to prevent casualties.
