Daesun Joojo, Mecenat Project 'Smoothly'... "Leading the Revitalization of Local Culture and Arts"

Busan-based local company Daesun Joojo is actively engaging in mecenat activities, revitalizing the local cultural scene. Mecenat refers to corporate support for cultural and artistic projects.


Daesun Joojo has joined the KNN Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra Supporters’ Club ‘Musikverein’ as a corporate member, helping to popularize classical music and nurture talent. Recent sponsorships include the ‘Chamber Music Festival’ and the ‘Korean Art Song Grand Festival’ held at the Busan Cultural Center.


The ‘Summer Music Festival’ led by world-renowned conductor Geum Nan-sae, who hails from Busan, is also sponsored for the second consecutive year. The festival will be held from the 22nd to the 30th at F1963, a complex cultural space in Suyeong-gu, Busan, with three daily sessions at 11 a.m., 4 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.


The stage specially sponsored by Daesun Joojo will take place at 11 a.m. on the 22nd at the Geum Nan-sae Music Center within F1963.


The special stage will be filled with beautiful melodies by pianist Ilya Rashkovsky, who has won top prizes at prestigious international competitions such as 1st place at the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition and 2nd place at the Long-Thibaud-Crespin Competition. Conductor Geum Nan-sae’s commentary will further enrich the performance.

Daesun Joojo also participated in sponsoring this year’s original musical ‘Baseball King Marines.’ Produced as part of Busan City’s support program for emerging young artists, Baseball King Marines is a family musical depicting the growth and friendship of the Busan-based youth baseball team ‘Marines Little Baseball Team.’


The musical can be seen at the Busan Citizens’ Hall Grand Theater until the 16th.


Daesun Joojo CEO Jo Woo-hyun said, “We are pleased to support the activities of artists in classical music and musicals again this year,” adding, “We will continue to provide generous support so that local cultural and artistic activities can become even richer.”


Daesun Joojo, together with its parent company BN Group, has been hosting the large-scale orchestra concert ‘Korea Corporate Love Music Concert’ for 10 years, raising the level of local culture by one step.


In recognition of its more than 10 years of sponsorship of local festivals, concerts, and film festivals, it was selected as an excellent cultural and artistic sponsorship institution in Busan in 2016, the only one in the city to receive this honor.
