Gunsan City Hosts Youth Gathering 'Global Festival'

First Step of the Youth Culture Festival Water Zone

Gunsan City in Jeonbuk announced on the 13th that the youth gathering event, 'Global Festival,' will be held on the 15th at the waterfront stage of Eunpa Lake Park.

This festival is hosted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and Gunsan City, and organized by the Gunsan Youth Center. About 800 local youths and citizens are expected to attend. It is a youth cultural event held under three themes: Global Zone, Water Zone, and Culture Zone, to support the diverse sensibilities and talents of young people.

To enhance the capabilities of youths, various youth clubs and individuals from related local organizations will participate. A variety of global cultural experience booths and performances will be held to mark the beginning of summer.

In particular, the Gunsan Youth Sexual Culture Center will participate in the experience booths, creating bracelets threaded with beads representing ovulation days, fertile periods, and expected menstruation dates to increase understanding of the ovulation cycle. Fresh and diverse programs that are usually difficult to experience, such as booths emphasizing the preciousness of life, will be provided.

Additionally, a new Water Zone will be established, featuring experience booths newly planned this year, including water slides, water pools, and water fountains.

The city recruited participants for the experience booths in advance to ensure a safe festival. Various entertainment and food booths, as well as activities like making patbingsu, will be prepared to provide enjoyable times not only for youths but also for local residents attending the event.

A city official said, "Based on a prior demand survey targeting youths, we organized experience booths under three themes," adding, "We will continue to prepare various events that youths and local residents can enjoy together, contributing to the revitalization of the Gunsan Youth Gathering."

Meanwhile, the city plans to hold the youth gathering event 'Outstanding Youth Invitation Gunsan Youth Traditional Arts Festival' in August to foster desirable culture and sound thinking among youths.
