Resolve to Proactively Respond to Mid- to Long-Term Fiscal Crisis Amid Ongoing Economic Downturn

On the 12th, Oh Eun-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, attended the joint declaration ceremony held at the Seoul City Hall main conference room, where he proclaimed a joint declaration for sound fiscal management between the Seoul Metropolitan Government and 25 autonomous districts, pledging to promote self-help efforts to strengthen fiscal soundness.

The ceremony was attended by Oh Se-hoon, Mayor of Seoul, along with the heads of the 25 autonomous districts (including representatives), who resolved that the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the 25 districts will jointly strive to prepare for fiscal crisis situations such as revenue decline and expenditure increase in the era of low birthrate and aging population.

The joint declaration includes commitments to ▲ prioritize citizen safety and happiness as the highest values and strive for rational allocation of resources ▲ strengthen self-help efforts to expand the revenue base ▲ enhance fiscal soundness by reducing unnecessary and excessive expenditures ▲ and promote mutual cooperation between Seoul and the autonomous districts for sound fiscal management, with Seoul providing administrative support to the districts.

Oh Eun-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, stated, “In order to proactively respond to the mid- to long-term fiscal crisis caused by the ongoing economic downturn and tax revenue losses due to the real estate market slump, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the 25 autonomous districts will work together, and Dobong-gu will also strengthen its self-help efforts accordingly.”
