On the 12th, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it is recruiting groups to participate in cultural and artistic performances to support the successful hosting of the '10th Gwangju Design Biennale,' which will be held from September 7 to November 7.
This public recruitment was prepared to actively attract visitors to the Gwangju Design Biennale and create an atmosphere of participation among residents through various cultural and artistic performances.
The recruitment target is groups based in Gwangju City that can comprehensively plan and perform cultural and artistic performances such as gugak (traditional Korean music), popular songs, dance, and classical music, and have held performances with a scale of 5 million KRW or more per single event at least three times within the last three years.
The selected groups will perform cultural and artistic performances at least three times in the Culture and Arts Belt area of Jungoe Park during the Gwangju Design Biennale period and receive a subsidy of 10 million KRW.
Groups wishing to participate can submit the application form, project plan, and other related documents by email or visit to the Culture and Arts Division of Buk-gu Office by the 24th. For more details, please check the recruitment announcement on the Buk-gu Office website.
Buk-gu will select two final performance groups by evaluating residents' participation contribution and project execution ability, and notify them individually in August.
A Buk-gu official said, "We will recruit excellent performance groups to provide various attractions to visitors and local residents attending the Gwangju Design Biennale," and added, "We ask for the interest and participation of the residents so that the Gwangju Design Biennale can be successfully held."
