"Backstabbing Former President to Steal Junior's District"
"One Phone Call Grants Son 23 Days of Leave"
"When This Person Targets, They Become President or Minister"
Kim Woong, a member of the People Power Party, sharply criticized former Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae, who targeted him over the 'alleged prosecution report scandal,' saying, "Mind your own business," and pointed out controversies related to Chu in detail.
On the 12th, Kim said on his social media (SNS), "I belatedly learned that the mother of conservatism severely scolded me. I deeply reflect on this. This person is no ordinary individual," expressing this sentiment.
The day before, former Minister Chu criticized Kim, who said he "does not remember" the recording supporting the prosecution report scandal, on SNS, calling it "abnormal behavior to claim not to remember a long 17 minutes and 30 seconds phone call," and urged, "Please act within reason."
In response, Kim mentioned Chu’s controversies and rebutted. The "mother of conservatism" is a nickname implying that Chu Mi-ae bears great responsibility for the birth of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration.
He sarcastically referred to Chu as "the main figure behind the impeachment of President Roh Moo-hyun, Korea’s Ida Taebel who exposed the Druking operation, and the savior of conservatism who brought about the Yoon Seok-yeol government." He also criticized her recent attacks on former President Moon Jae-in, saying, "She did not even stab in the back the former president who appointed her as minister just to take over a junior politician’s constituency."
He continued, "Of course, there is a somewhat unfair aspect. Just because I say I don’t remember doesn’t mean I have seen some great movie. I did not buy a car with leftover political funds three to four days before my term as a lawmaker ended, nor did I spend 100 million won as a contract fee for a book that was not even completed," listing past political controversies involving Chu.
Kim pointed out, "I did not use hundreds of thousands of won in political funds 21 times at a restaurant run by my daughter, nor did I show the boldness to award myself a certificate of appreciation when I was party leader. In a matter where someone else’s son should rightfully be punished as a deserter, I did not turn a single phone call into a 23-day leave for my own son," criticizing her further.
He added, "I did not have my brother-in-law or brother-in-law’s brother occupy the position of chairman of the bus mutual aid association, nor did I lobby the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding my second daughter’s French study abroad visa. I did not shield a vice minister who beat a taxi driver after drinking by saying he is a very gentlemanly person who would not hit anyone, nor did I defend the crimes of the Cho family with all my might like Kim Min-jae-level defense, nor did I justify the war by blaming Zelensky for being wrongly elected after Russia invaded Ukraine," pointing out controversies over her past remarks.
Kim concluded, "Above all, the person this individual targets has become president and minister. So I also harbor a small hope," and added the hashtag '#Mind_Your_Own_Business' at the end of his post.
