500 Companies Participating in Startup-Centered University Project Created 1,600 Jobs

Ministry of SMEs and Startups Holds Follow-up Investment IR Event
to Announce Business Performance

Last year, over 500 startups supported through the Entrepreneurship-Centered University project generated more than 500 billion KRW in sales and created over 1,600 jobs.

On the 11th, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups held an IR event at Front1 in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to attract follow-up investments for companies supported by the Entrepreneurship-Centered University program.

The event was attended by outstanding startups participating in the 2022 Entrepreneurship-Centered University project and 19 investment firms. They presented the achievements of the program and best practices by university, and listened to voices from the field to promote university-originated and regional entrepreneurship.

Last year, 504 startups selected and supported under the Entrepreneurship-Centered University project generated 548.1 billion KRW in sales and created 1,609 new jobs during the contract period, while attracting 54.3 billion KRW in investments.

Notably, at this event, the investment firm 'Gangssen' drew attention by signing a commitment to invest 150 million KRW in the startup 'Neulpum Naejin E&C.'

Additionally, three local creators utilizing region-specific content participated in pitching, supporting investment attraction for young regional entrepreneurs and small business owners, thereby strengthening the role of the Entrepreneurship-Centered University.

Lim Jeong-wook, Director of the Startup Venture Innovation Office at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, stated, "I hope that through the Entrepreneurship-Centered University, universities, startups, and investment firms will interact and grow into regional entrepreneurship hubs fostering startup growth."
