'Current and Future of Electric Vehicle Battery Recycling'... SNE Research Seminar on the 18th

Major Domestic and International Companies Including POSCO HY Clean Metal Participate

The '1st Battery Recycling Day 2023' hosted by market research firm SNE Research will be held on the 18th at the Korea Science and Technology Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Under the theme 'The Present and Future of Global Battery Recycling,' this event will be attended by key organizations related to used battery recycling and domestic and international companies.


In the morning session, Kim Dae-gi, Vice President of SNE Research, will present on the market outlook for battery recycling and reuse. Following this, Kim Hyung-deok, Director of Sungil Hightech, a leading domestic used battery recycling company, and Jung Chang-hwan, Executive Director of Saevitchem, will present their companies' recycling technology development and business strategies. The final morning session will be led by Jo Ji-hye, Head of the Resource Circulation Research Division at the Korea Environment Institute, who will introduce 'Policy Directions for a Battery Circular Economy in Preparation for the Carbon Neutral Era.'

In the afternoon session, Lee Won-chan, Head of Division at Huayou Cobalt, China’s top cobalt refining company, will explain Huayou Cobalt’s recycling and reuse technologies. This will be followed by Dawei Li, Asia-Pacific Regional Head of Li-Cycle, North America’s largest battery recycling company, who will present on the topic 'Closing the Loop for Raw Materials: Sustainable Lithium-ion Battery Recycling.' Presentations will also continue with Song Min-seok, Head of Business Operations at POSCO HY Clean Metal, Shim Tae-joon, Executive Director of Youngpoong, and Shim In-yong, CEO of Energy Materials, who are leading the domestic recycling industry.


An SNE Research official stated, "We hope that participants will create opportunities for information exchange, network expansion, and business cooperation at this seminar where leading market experts in the battery recycling industry gather in one place."
