Yeongyang-gun Public Health Center in Gyeongbuk was selected as an outstanding local government at the '8th Regional Health Care Plan Establishment Performance Conference' held at The-K Hotel in Yangjae, Seoul on July 7th, and received the Minister of Health and Welfare's Excellence Award.
At this performance conference, about 400 people from the Ministry of Health and Welfare and health institutions nationwide attended to award outstanding local governments and share best practices.
The 8th Regional Health Care Plan is a mid- to long-term plan established with the purpose of improving the level of health care within the local community from 2023 to 2026, enhancing the quality of health care services for local residents, and promoting residents' health.
Accordingly, Yeongyang-gun Public Health Center established the plan through processes such as local status analysis, multifaceted collection of residents' opinions, public policy team, and review committees under the vision of “Creating Together and Enjoying Lifelong Healthy Yeongyang.” The main promotion strategies included ▲ Establishing an essential health care delivery system such as an infectious disease response system ▲ Strengthening sustainable resident health promotion ▲ Improving quality of life through multidisciplinary cooperation, which received high evaluations.
Jang Yeo-jin, the head of the Public Health Center, said, “To improve the health promotion of Yeongyang-gun residents, we will do our best to properly implement the regional health care plan for four years starting this year to create ‘Yeongyang-gun where everyone is healthy and happy from birth to old age.’”
