According to the county on the 10th, the slogans of Yeongam-gun, revealed for the first time since the launch of the 8th elected term, are ‘Innovation Capital of Korea,’ ‘City of Youth Opportunities,’ and ‘Heart of Mahan · Ecological Healing City.’

First, ‘Innovation Capital of Korea’ is a slogan that embodies the meaning of many people creating hope and advancing as a model of a local circular economy.
It represents a leading city where all local governments nationwide can come to Yeongam to learn and share.
The second slogan, ‘City of Youth Opportunities,’ carries the meaning of encouraging youth to stay, return, and come in.
Yeongam-gun plans to become a vibrant youth city through life-cycle policies, improvement of living conditions, and job creation.
The third slogan, ‘Heart of Mahan · Ecological Healing City,’ is an ecological slogan that preserves ecological resources by utilizing the heritage of Mahan and improves quality of life and income through carbon neutrality practices.
The plan is to connect various historical, cultural, and tourism resources of Yeongam into a single ecological axis, advancing as a city of healing and restoration.
Based on these three slogans, Yeongam-gun envisions building a youth-vibrant city, a local circular economy, and an ecological cultural city through innovation and change, designing a new 100-year future for Yeongam.
Additionally, at the event, the county newly unveiled a hologram of the Namsaengi, the flagship species of Wolchulsan National Park, which has been under development since May. The Namsaengi character will be widely used in agricultural product marketing, tourism product development, and more, contributing to local income generation and enhancing domestic and international recognition.
Yeongam-gun introduced the main character Namsaengi, along with the sub-characters Dal Tokki and an image symbolizing Wolchulsan Mountain. The county plans to establish these characters as the most beloved in Korea by gathering citizens’ opinions on character names, designs, and storytelling.
Governor Woo Seung-hee said, “Yeongam as the Innovation Capital of Korea, City of Youth Opportunities, and Ecological Healing City cannot be achieved by the governor alone but must be accomplished by gathering the strength and wisdom of the citizens.” He added, “I ask for deep interest and active support on the path of ‘innovation and change’ for Yeongam’s new 100-year future, along with the three newly introduced slogans.”
