Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is opening the urban ‘Gwanaksan Valley Camping Forest’ and operating a 1-night 2-day camping program that the whole family can enjoy together.

‘Gwanaksan Valley Camping Forest (around 205-1 Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu)’ is located a 10-minute walk from Gwanaksan Station on the Sillim Line. Inside the camping forest, there are children’s play facilities such as a water playground and adventure forest, as well as convenience facilities including public restrooms.

Additionally, 5-person tents and mats are available for rent, and microwave ovens, refrigerators, and water heaters are equipped, making it popular among residents who want to enjoy simple camping with their families on weekends.

‘Gwanaksan Valley Camping Forest’ offers not only camping for 1 night and 2 days but also various forest education and recreation programs. Visitors can experience diverse forest activities such as rope play, night insect exploration, aquatic organism observation, forest trail walking, and forest healing.

The district plans to operate a total of 12 programs twice a week (Friday to Saturday, Saturday to Sunday) from 3 PM to 11 AM the next day under the themes ‘Dive into Summer Forest Camping!’ in July and August, and ‘Wise Fragrant Forest’ in September.

Visitors to the camping forest only need to prepare simple items necessary for forest experience camping, such as lunch boxes and drinks for the evening and morning of the application day, extra clothes, sleeping bags, and lanterns. However, cooking, fire, and electricity are not allowed.

A district official stated, “Currently, parking is difficult due to construction at the Gwanaksan Urban Natural Park Management Office and parking lot, so it is easy to access on foot after getting off at Gwanaksan Station by using the Sillim Line light rail, bus, or subway.”

Any family with children aged 7 or older can apply. The usage fee is 10,000 KRW, and 15 families are accepted per session on a first-come, first-served basis.

Program participation applications can be made in advance on the Seoul Metropolitan Government Public Service Reservation website from 10 AM on the 20th of the previous month (for July programs, from 10 AM on July 10).
