According to the legal community on the 7th, Judge Kim Jae-eun of the Criminal Division 13 at Seoul Southern District Court sentenced Mr. A to a fine of 8 million won on charges of trespassing in a multi-use facility for sexual purposes under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act. The court also ordered Mr. A to complete 40 hours of a sexual violence treatment program and imposed a 5-year employment restriction at institutions related to children, adolescents, and persons with disabilities.

In November of last year, Mr. A entered a women's restroom in a building in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, with the intent to take used sanitary pads discarded by women. It is known that about 30 minutes later, he also entered another women's restroom located within the same building.

Mr. A was previously caught in January of the same year while committing the same act and was sentenced to 4 months in prison with a 2-year probation.

Judge Kim stated, "Mr. A committed the crime during the probation period by trespassing into a women's restroom to satisfy his sexual desires, which is a serious offense," but also noted, "He confessed to the crime and has a level 2 intellectual disability, which, although not reaching the degree of diminished capacity, may have had some influence on the offense."

He added, "Mr. A appears to be in need of active treatment, and considering that his family has pledged to make thorough efforts to prevent recidivism," explaining the reasons for the sentencing.
