Park Yong-jin "Dismiss Won Hee-ryong Immediately... He Doesn't Know His Place"

Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong announced the complete cancellation of the Seoul-Yangpyeong Expressway project, which has been accused of special favors to the family of First Lady Kim Geon-hee. In response, Park Yong-jin, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, raised his voice, demanding, "Dismiss Minister Won immediately."

On the 7th, Park said on his social media, "How can a minister unilaterally decide to completely cancel a national project worth 1.8 trillion won without consulting the president? This is not just a matter of anger management disorder; it’s a case of not knowing one’s own limits, a disorder of self-awareness."

He pointed out, "Not only did they ask again about the terminus plan of the expressway, which had secured economic feasibility, validity, and convenience for local residents, and which Yangpyeong County itself had negatively evaluated in the Gang Sang-myeon plan, but now they are overturning the entire project based on their own whims. If a cabinet member drags the opposition party into a national project and uses it as a political stake for their own political presence, this is nothing but political chaos."

Park urged, "President Yoon Seok-yeol must immediately dismiss Minister Won," raising his voice, "Did the people elect Minister Won, or did they elect President Yoon?"

He added, "Minister Won, I understand that you are now desperately making political overplays, following Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon and Auditor General Yoo Byung-ho, but if you are that anxious, you should just quit being a minister and resume your political career instead," and continued, "Aren’t you even sorry to the people of Yangpyeong County and the citizens who have been held hostage because of your personal greed?"
