Over 50 Visits in the First Half of the Year, Two Voyages to Japan and Taiwan from Busan Port
Mr. Trot 2 Cast Including Jinhaeseong and An Seonghun Perform Trot Concert Onboard
Busan City announced that, following the first half of this year, more than 40 large international cruise ships are scheduled to visit Busan in the second half of the year.
This follows over 50 visits to Busan by cruise ships in the first half of this year.
The arriving cruise ships include large luxury vessels such as the Diamond Princess, MSC Bellissima, and Silver Muse.
From July to November, tourists visiting Busan via cruise ships are expected to continue, contributing steadily to the local economy through spending and consumption at tourist sites.
Additionally, Lotte JTB will operate two charter cruises in October on the Costa Serena, which uses Busan Port as its home port, bound for Japan or Taiwan.
In June, two cruises departing from and arriving at Busan, traveling to Japan, were successfully completed.
In October, two cruises are scheduled: ▲ October 13?18 (5 nights, 6 days, Busan → sea → Naha, Okinawa, Japan → Keelung, Taipei → sea → Busan) ▲ October 18?21 (3 nights, 4 days, Busan → Sakaiminato, Japan → Maizuru, Japan → Busan).
Notably, a trot music festival featuring contestants from Mr. Trot 2 will be held onboard these ships, attracting significant attention.
During the cruise period, famous trot performances will be featured, including ▲ June 14 with Jinhaeseong, ▲ June 17 with An Seonghun, and ▲ June 19 with Park Jihyun, enhancing the cruise experience and serving as a unique themed cruise product expected to boost domestic cruise demand.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, “Our city will continue to collaborate with related organizations and industries such as the Busan Tourism Organization, Busan Tourism Association, and Busan Immigration Office to promote and attract cruise tourists to Busan.”
