Kim Jae-sik, Chairman of the Dong-gu Council in Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced on the 6th that the "Partial Amendment to the Ordinance on Support for Small Business Owners" was approved as originally proposed at the 302nd Extraordinary Session of the Planning and General Affairs Committee.

The ordinance includes provisions to support guarantee fees incurred during the special guarantee loan process for small business owners and to conduct surveys to rediscover the characteristics of local commercial districts.

Chairman Kim emphasized, "For small business owners who are increasingly burdened by difficult economic conditions such as COVID-19 and high interest rates, we will carefully and diligently address not only fee support but also their practical difficulties."

He added, "I hope that Dong-gu Office will break away from conventional development policies and, based on the survey provisions, discover projects that allow small business owners to genuinely feel the development of commercial districts."

Meanwhile, Dong-gu has been providing special financial support through special guarantees to 55 small business owners in 2021, 64 last year, and 50 this year. The response is said to be so enthusiastic that applications close immediately after announcements are made.
