Kyungdong Navien Contributes to Heating Energy Savings through Condensing Boiler Distribution
As electricity, gas, and water bills have each risen by nearly 30% compared to last year, the trend in the home appliance industry is shifting towards 'high efficiency.' Companies that have long been leading the market with high-efficiency appliances are gaining attention. Kyungdong Navien is a representative example. Kyungdong Navien is focusing on promoting eco-friendly and high-efficiency products.
Kyungdong Navien's most representative product is the 'condensing boiler.' Developed in 1988, this product is a first-grade model with an energy efficiency of over 92%, reducing gas consumption by up to 28.4% compared to conventional boilers. The Ministry of Environment stated that using a condensing boiler can save about 440,000 KRW annually on gas bills. This amount increases as gas prices rise. It also reduces nitrogen oxide emissions, a major cause of air pollution. It has been found that using a condensing boiler can reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by approximately 79% annually and carbon dioxide emissions by up to 576 kg. This is equivalent to planting 208 pine trees per condensing boiler each year.
Kyungdong Navien recently launched the 'Navien CondensingON AI,' which also contributes to water conservation. This product allows hot water to be used within 10 seconds, which is 93% faster than conventional boilers. It saves about 13.7 liters of water that would otherwise be wasted while waiting for the water to reach the desired temperature. For a family of four, this amounts to 20 tons of water saved annually. Additionally, the artificial intelligence (AI) feature analyzes the household's energy consumption every month. Users can compare their gas usage with the same period last year or with other households using boilers of the same capacity.
In addition to condensing boilers, Kyungdong Navien contributes to energy savings through various other products. The recently launched 'Navien Clean Ventilation System Kitchen Plus' allows air purification and ventilation without opening windows. During this process, the heat exchanger recycles wasted heat, enabling energy savings of up to 66.8% in heating during winter and up to 24.2% in cooling during summer.
Recently, Kyungdong Navien has been preparing a new cooling system called the 'Condensing Air Conditioner Hybrid.' This product utilizes waste heat from the power generation process to provide cooling, dehumidification, and clean ventilation. It reduces electricity consumption by about 42% compared to conventional air conditioners. It is explained that distributing 10,000 units of the condensing air conditioner would have the effect of planting 32,500 pine trees annually.
