Elegant Youths Sign Collective Agreement with Delivery Workers' Union

Continuing a 4-Year Exemplary Win-Win Model
'Platform Rider Win-Win Support System' in Operation
Hospitalization Period Due to Accidents Also Reflected in Support Eligibility

Woowa Brothers, the company in charge of logistics services for Baedal Minjok (CEO Kim Byung-woo), announced that it held a signing ceremony on the morning of the 5th at its headquarters in Songpa-gu, Seoul, with the Delivery Platform Labor Union of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Service Federation, and finalized the collective bargaining agreement for 2023.

Woowa Brothers and the Delivery Platform Labor Union reached a tentative agreement last month on the 2nd, centered on the establishment of a win-win support system that strengthens the level of support for riders. Afterward, through detailed adjustments and a vote by union members on the negotiation proposal, the agreement was finally concluded on this day.

Elegant Youths Sign Collective Agreement with Delivery Workers' Union On the 5th, at the collective agreement signing ceremony between Woowa Brothers and the Delivery Platform Labor Union of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Service Federation held in Songpa-gu, Seoul, representatives from both sides, including Kim Byung-woo, CEO of Woowa Brothers (third from the left in the front row), and Hong Chang-ui, chairman of the Delivery Platform Labor Union (fourth from the left in the front row), took a commemorative photo after signing the negotiation agreement.

According to the negotiation proposal, Woowa Brothers will operate the "Platform Rider Win-Win Support System," which takes into account the characteristics of platform riders who operate freely whenever they want. The "Platform Rider Win-Win Support System" is a support program that raises the level of support compared to the existing collective agreement and creates a customized environment that allows riders to continue delivery activities. A consensus was formed on the need to promote the sustainability of platform riders who consistently work and encourage win-win activities, leading to the establishment of a system that supports long-term delivery performance.

Riders who perform more than 220 days annually and complete 22 to 30 deliveries per day through Baemin Connect qualify to participate in the Platform Rider Win-Win Support System. Woowa Brothers decided to grant eligibility for the support system by counting hospitalization periods due to accidents during delivery as delivery days. Since both parties agreed that the hospitalization period caused by delivery accidents must be mandatorily considered as delivery days to support sustainable delivery activities of riders, this provision was added. Riders selected as support recipients will receive a win-win support payment of 215,000 KRW the following month if they complete 460 to 520 deliveries monthly, depending on the region.

Kim Byung-woo, CEO of Woowa Brothers, said, "With a consistent belief that riders are important partners in the delivery industry, we engaged sincerely in dialogue and were able to find a consensus considering the sustainability and coexistence of the delivery business." He added, "We will continue to maintain an exemplary win-win model through dialogue and strive to spread this win-win model throughout the delivery industry."
