Daegu Bank President Hwang Byeong-woo Joins '1st Zero Supplies Challenge'... Next Participants Named: Kim In-nam and Go Byeong-il

Hwang Byung-woo, President of DGB Daegu Bank, participated in the ‘Single-Use Items Zero Challenge’ to practice environmental protection through active participation and to join eco-friendly management. He nominated Kim In-nam, Chairman of the Daegu Employers Federation, and Ko Byung-il, President of Gwangju Bank, as the next participants.


The ‘Single-Use Items Zero Challenge’ is a relay campaign that started at the Ministry of Environment, where participants post on social media promising to reduce the use of single-use items and nominate subsequent participants.

President Hwang joined this challenge upon the recommendation of Hong Won-hwa, President of Kyungpook National University, and posted content encouraging the reduction of plastic use on DGB Daegu Bank’s official Instagram and official YouTube Shorts.


DGB Daegu Bank has conducted in-house campaigns during working hours to reduce plastic and single-use items as part of company-wide environmental protection activities to actively practice ESG management. The bank also installed the first unmanned PET bottle crushing collection machine among local companies in Daegu at its headquarters in Suseong-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu, and uses the proceeds generated to support children in vulnerable groups.


President Hwang of Daegu Bank expressed his intention to continue striving for ESG management through active practice and participation in eco-friendly activities.
