Isunhui, Gangbuk-gu Mayor: "Repaying Residents' Trust Through Gangbuk-gu Development"

Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, held a commemorative ceremony with employees in the district office auditorium on the 3rd to mark the 1st anniversary of the launch of the 8th local government administration.

At the ceremony, Mayor Lee shared achievements and visions with the staff, praised their efforts, and then visited 50 departments to personally encourage each employee.

During the first year of the 8th local government administration, Mayor Lee succeeded in easing the altitude restriction regulations for Bukhansan Mountain imposed by Seoul City. She also operated the nation’s first ‘Villa Management Office’ to provide a clean environment for residents living in small-scale multi-family housing.

Additionally, she established a Redevelopment and Reconstruction Support Team directly under the mayor’s office to accelerate residential maintenance projects. As a result, Beondong was selected last year as the ‘Moa Town No. 1 Pilot Project Site,’ and areas such as Sonamu Cooperative Village in Mia-dong and Beondong, which had repeatedly failed redevelopment due to altitude restrictions, were chosen as candidates for Seoul City’s Rapid Integrated Planning.

Mayor Lee Soon-hee stated, "Thanks to the combined efforts of Gangbuk-gu residents and employees, we were able to achieve significant results. During the remaining term, I will continue to maintain my original intention and actively carry out administration to repay the trust given by residents with the development of Gangbuk-gu."
