Gyeonggi Provincial Superintendent of Education Lim Tae-hee is speaking about the importance of character education at the '2nd Gyeonggi Character Education Council' held on the 3rd at the Gwanggyo Office.
Lim Tae-hee, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, emphasized cooperation beyond departmental boundaries, stating that "character education is an important spirit of the times."
At the '2nd Gyeonggi Character Education Council' held at the Gwanggyo Office on the 3rd, Superintendent Lim said, "Character education requires joint efforts from schools, families, and local communities," adding, "I hope this will be a starting point for better character education and better Gyeonggi education based on empathy."
At the council meeting, based on the character education policies shared by each department at the 1st council meeting in April, presentations on character education initiatives and discussions on interdepartmental collaboration plans were held.
In particular, the council shared departmental initiatives including ▲Parent Online Empathy Talk ▲Early Childhood Character Education Practice ▲Character Education-Centered Classes ▲School Sports Club Competitions ▲School Galleries ▲Family Psychological Recovery Programs ▲Character Education Training for Elementary Caregivers ▲Digital Citizenship Competency Education Practice Schools ▲Disability Awareness Improvement Education.
Additionally, the Office of Education Support shared cases of 25 character education councils reflecting regional characteristics and character education practice schools involving parent-student participation, and proposed opinions from the field.
The Provincial Office of Education is distributing character education materials tailored to growth stages and conducting policy research to strengthen the role of families in character education.
