Since 2021, KT has accumulated service experience by combining food waste reducers that convert food waste into compost with IoT wireless communication-based equipment monitoring capabilities. Building on this experience and through collaboration with various companies, KT has upgraded to Eco-friendly Food Waste Processor 2.0 and offers it to customers. On the 3rd, KT announced, "We are introducing Eco-friendly Food Waste Processor 2.0, which enables workplaces that generate large amounts of food waste?such as hotels, hospitals, corporate cafeterias, and large social welfare facilities?to process food waste in an environmentally friendly manner."

The companies collaborating with KT are Hanchang Biomagic and KMS. Hanchang Biomagic is a developer of microbial technology using lactic acid bacteria and a manufacturer of high-quality reducers. KMS is a company specializing in the production of communication terminals and IoT gateways. KT has developed the first domestic solution that manages and monitors the amount of food waste generated and reduced in real time through a DX platform in partnership with these companies.

Eco-friendly Food Waste Processor 2.0 decomposes food waste using a microbial liquid fermentation method, thereby reducing the volume of waste. It also provides real-time information on the amount of food waste generated and reduced, as well as the corresponding carbon emission reductions. Through this, customers can manage food waste emissions in real time by utilizing workplace data. Additionally, KT continuously manages customers’ reducers through its ‘On-site Dispatch Customer Care Service.’
