Eunpyeong-gu to Receive ESG Policy Proposals for a Sustainable City
Creative Proposals on Sustainability and Related Topics Accepted from July to December
Submissions via 국민신문고, District Website, KakaoTalk, etc... Realizing a Sustainable Eunpyeong
Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) is hosting an ‘Idea Proposal Contest’ focused on ESG (Environment, Social, Governance), a key element in achieving sustainability.
The district holds biannual policy proposal contests every year to encourage participation from residents interested in district administration and to promote work innovation.
This second half of the year’s contest invites policies for sustainable district development under the theme of ESG, which has recently become a hot topic. Besides ‘ESG,’ proposals on any free topic that can contribute to district development are also welcome.
Participation methods include ▲‘Proposal’ via 국민신문고 (National Petition System) ▲‘Idea Plaza’ on the Eunpyeong-gu official website ▲#Tonghaera Eunpyeong. ‘#Tonghaera Eunpyeong’ is a communication channel where policy proposals can be submitted via text message (010-2353-8939) or the KakaoTalk channel ‘Tonghaera Eunpyeong.’
The submission period is ongoing from this month until the end of the year. Submitted proposals will be reviewed by relevant departments for feasibility and whether similar proposals already exist. Six winners will be selected biannually and awarded prize money. The prizes are 1 grand prize of 1,000,000 KRW, 2 excellence prizes of 500,000 KRW each, and 3 encouragement prizes of 300,000 KRW each.
Additionally, proposers will receive an online gift certificate worth approximately 5,000 KRW up to three times per year on a biannual basis until the budget is exhausted, following review. Simple complaints are excluded from eligibility. Proposals that are concrete and feasible have a higher chance of being adopted.
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, “We hope that diverse and innovative ideas will be discovered to help Eunpyeong leap forward as a sustainable city,” and added, “We look forward to the active interest and participation of all residents.”
