Netizens "Feeling Refreshed After Watching True Education Video"
Possibility of Mutual Assault Established Beyond Self-Defense
A video of a drunken man who was picking a fight with passengers on the subway getting hit with a 'low kick' by another man is gaining attention.
Recently, a video titled "The guy who low-kicked the villain on Line 4 subway today" was posted on YouTube. The video surpassed 3 million views and became a hot topic online.
The video shows a scene on subway Line 4 where a man wearing white clothes, Mr. A, and a man wearing blue clothes, Mr. B, are standing face to face.
When Mr. A pointed his finger at Mr. B and said, "Come here," Mr. B replied, "This is the first time I've seen you," then approached Mr. A and delivered a low kick.
The two men continued their confrontation even as they moved to the next car, and other passengers were seen avoiding the area.
Mr. B said, "I held back, right?" and struck Mr. A's leg eight times, after which Mr. A collapsed to the floor, ending the altercation.
When the video was first posted, many comments criticized both men, saying, "Fighting like that in a public place, both are nuisances."
However, a witness who was on the same train later explained the situation, saying, "The man in white suddenly picked a fight and cursed at the man in blue first," and "The man in blue was avoiding me, asking why he was being targeted, and that's how it ended up like this." This changed netizens' reactions.
One netizen commented, "After always seeing videos of villains getting away with it, it's refreshing to see a villain getting taught a lesson." Another said, "He is well-trained, really cool."
Meanwhile, there was also public interest in whether Mr. B's kicking of Mr. A's leg could be considered self-defense. Since Mr. A started the confrontation, some argued that Mr. B's actions could be justified as self-defense.
However, on the 28th, lawyer Baek Seong-moon stated on 'Kim Myung-jun's News Fighter,' "The moment you attack, it can become another act of aggression," and "If the witness accounts are true, it may be taken into consideration during sentencing, but it could be considered mutual assault," indicating that self-defense might not be established.
