Jeil Pharma Holdings announced on the 30th that all affiliates, including Jeil Yakpum and Jeil Health Science, have simultaneously obtained the highest level certifications for Environmental Management System (ISO14001) and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (ISO45001) from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
ISO14001 and ISO45001 are certifications established by ISO concerning environmental management and occupational health and safety management. ISO14001 is an international standard that specifies the requirements for an environmental management system applicable to industrial sectors, including environmental protection, accident prevention, and compliance with environmental regulations. Companies that implement this system can systematically identify and assess environmental threats and efficiently manage improvements. ISO45001 is a certification granted to workplaces that have systems in place to prevent various types of industrial accidents and to create and maintain optimal working environments.
ISO certification is granted after the certifying body rigorously reviews the company’s manuals, procedures, guidelines, and on-site inspections of the workplace. This integrated certification was achieved based on the audit by the Korea Compliance Institute (KCI), an international certification body.
To obtain this integrated certification, Jeil Pharma Holdings and all its affiliates formed environmental and occupational health and safety departments staffed with experts and have continuously engaged in activities to establish the system. Furthermore, they have been making efforts to contribute to industrial accident prevention and community development by conducting industrial safety and health training and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training for all employees of the affiliates.
Han Sang-chul, CEO of Jeil Pharma Holdings, stated, “We are striving to establish a system that enables proactive responses to industrial accidents, operate eco-friendly facilities, and promote resource recycling to achieve a circular economy through environmental management. We will use this certification as an opportunity to strengthen our ESG management capabilities and take a step forward as a more trustworthy pharmaceutical company.”
