At 3:30 PM on the 28th, a picketing event urging former Democratic Party representative assemblyman Jeong Jin-sul to voluntarily resign from his position and for severe disciplinary action by the Ethics Committee was held in front of the plenary hall.

First, 21 female assemblymembers including Shin Bok-ja, chairwoman of the People Power Party Women's Assembly, appealed to fellow assemblymembers in front of the plenary hall where the session was held, to raise awareness of the seriousness of the situation and to join the cause.

They also demanded that Assemblyman Jeong Jin-sul take responsibility for his immoral conduct and urged him to voluntarily resign as an apology to the citizens of Seoul.

Following this, they went to the Operations Committee meeting room on the 3rd floor of the main building, where the Ethics Special Committee Advisory Board meeting was being held, conducted a silent protest, and delivered a petition to the advisory committee chair requesting Assemblyman Jeong’s expulsion.

Shin Bok-ja, chairwoman of the People Power Party Women's Assembly, stated, “Starting with today’s expulsion picketing, we will continue our actions until Assemblyman Jeong Jin-sul voluntarily resigns from his position.”

At the 6th plenary session of the 319th regular meeting held that day, Assemblymembers Shin Dong-won and Kim Hye-ji condemned Assemblyman Jeong Jin-sul’s misconduct and demanded that the Democratic Party submit to the Seoul Metropolitan Council Ethics Special Committee the official expulsion status of Assemblyman Jeong within the party and the Ethics Tribunal’s ruling document.

Assemblymembers Shin and Kim each urged that if the Ethics Special Committee confirms Assemblyman Jeong Jin-sul’s misconduct, they should pass a resolution for severe disciplinary action, namely expulsion, and before that, Assemblyman Jeong should voluntarily resign with a repentant heart.
