On the 28th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam awarded plaques of commendation and special commemorative signboards to two establishments that have maintained their designation as Changwon Matjip (famous restaurants) for 10 years.

The city had previously designated 17 establishments in 2021 and 11 establishments in 2022 as Changwon Matjip 10-year maintenance businesses. This year, a hygiene and service evaluation was conducted for establishments selected as Changwon Matjip for 10 years since 2013, and both locations were finally selected. The establishments designated as Changwon Matjip 10-year maintenance businesses this year are ▲ Jasaeng Oriwon (Bongnim-dong) ▲ Namyang Dwaeji Gukbap (Yangdeok-dong).

The city awarded plaques of commendation to the owners of the two establishments who have maintained consistent taste with pride in their food, recognizing their contribution to the development of Changwon’s dining industry over the past 10 years.

To enhance the pride of the owners representing Changwon and to provide an opportunity to promote Changwon Matjip to tourists visiting the area, a ‘Changwon Matjip 10-Year Special Commemorative Signboard’ was produced and provided to the establishments.

Ha Jongmok, the first deputy mayor, said, “We are doing our best to promote these restaurants through Changwon City’s YouTube channel ‘Gongsulraeng,’ which publicizes designated Changwon Matjip to citizens,” and added, “Discovering famous restaurants can be an indicator of revitalizing tourism in Changwon, so we will actively strive to operate and support Changwon Matjip.”
