Gyeongnam National University Signs Agreement for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Production and Future Workforce Development

Expanding Virtuous Cycle Education Network and Building Platform

On the 28th, the Smart Manufacturing ICT Project Group of Gyeongnam National University signed a mutual agreement with the Masan University of the Specialized College Convergence Center and Gyeongnam Electronics High School to foster future talent in unmanned aerial vehicle production and spatial information.


Through this agreement, each institution promised to mutually cooperate in establishing an educational platform that contributes to the expansion of a virtuous cycle education network following the sequence of manufacturing ICT specialized vocational high schools, specialized colleges, and general universities, as well as resolving regional and interdisciplinary imbalances.

Additionally, they agreed to actively promote the cultivation of specialized technical personnel based on the ‘Local Government-University Cooperation-Based Regional Innovation Project,’ including ▲training specialized technicians linked to Changwon City’s ‘Drone Special Free Zone Operation Project’ ▲operating eVTOL and quadcopter education for local specialized high school students ▲training entry-level technical personnel related to unmanned aerial vehicle production and manufacturing ICT ▲forming a regional education network.


After the signing ceremony, officials from the Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Innovation Platform, Gyeongnam National University Smart Manufacturing ICT Project Group, Masan University of the Specialized College Convergence Center, and Gyeongnam Electronics High School gathered to share various know-how and information regarding the 4th-year project of the ‘Specialized College USG-Linked Extracurricular Program.’


Attendees at the event included Park Jae-yoon, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Gyeongnam National University; Lee Sang-won, Director of Industry-Academic Cooperation at Masan University; and Seo Myung-seok, Principal of Gyeongnam Electronics High School, among other officials.


Kim Jin-ho, Director of the Smart Manufacturing ICT Project Group at Gyeongnam National University and part of the Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Innovation Platform, stated, “In the 4th-year project execution phase, creating a regional innovation ecosystem that leverages the characteristics of specialized colleges requires not only linkage with USG but also education for cultivating specialized personnel that connects vocational high schools, specialized colleges, and general universities.” He added, “The Smart Manufacturing ICT Project Group at Gyeongnam National University will focus on sharing and expanding specialized college extracurricular programs through close cooperation with Masan University and Gyeongnam Electronics High School, and will dedicate efforts to nurturing regional innovation talent in various forms of unmanned aerial vehicles.”
