On the 5th, Dong-gu Disabled Welfare Center installed the region's first AI technology-applied smart hidden illegal filming camera prevention system in restrooms and shower rooms used by persons with disabilities.

This system automatically detects data such as videos transmitted when hidden cameras installed in restrooms and shower rooms operate, immediately blocks the transmission itself, and sends an alarm warning to the facility manager's mobile phone to enable a prompt response.

This AI-based hidden camera prevention system is a representative example of an AI application service that residents can experience, which is highly effective in protecting persons with disabilities trapped in potential sexual crimes and human rights blind spots.

Chairman Ando stated, “Digital sex crimes have increased by more than 10% annually, from 2,400 cases in 2012 to 6,212 cases in 2021,” and added, “This AI-based smart hidden camera prevention system that protects welfare and human rights of persons with disabilities is an area where local governments have not yet extended their efforts. They should prioritize investment, allocate budgets, and promote its distribution.”
