The 44th International Environmental Industry Technology & Green Energy Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as ENVEX 2023) was successfully held over three days from June 7 to 9 at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul. ENVEX 2023 featured participation from 274 companies across 18 countries and is recognized as the longest-running and largest environmental exhibition in Korea, showcasing the latest technologies in the environmental sector and attracting significant industry attention.

Notably, at ENVEX 2023, KYMA, which started as a specialized manufacturer of measuring instruments, has transformed into a comprehensive environmental technology digital transformation solution company. KYMA showcased the portable automatic moisture content measuring device 'KHK-21' based on its patents, along with the integrated measurement results input platform 'PADO,' drawing strong interest from both general visitors and domestic and international buyers.

The portable automatic moisture content measuring device (KHK-21) introduced by KYMA at ENVEX 2023 complies with the revised atmospheric pollution process testing standards and uses a capacitive sensor that measures the partial pressure of water vapor. Utilizing a rapid heater developed by KYMA and patented domestically, the total measurement process from preheating to measurement was shortened to within approximately five minutes. The measurement technology based on digital sensors eliminates the need for additional chemicals, heating and cooling devices, and optical instruments, making it an innovative measuring device compared to existing testing methods.

Additionally, through research and development aimed at resolving the difficulties faced by measurement technicians and managers?such as calculations of various measurement results performed on-site, preparation of measurement records after completion, document creation and storage, and contract management?KYMA introduced the free integrated measurement results management platform 'PADO' for the first time. This platform enables completion of various paperwork tasks via mobile and PC both on-site and in the office, earning praise as another innovative IT service following the development of the KHK-21 measuring device.

Seunghyun Kim, head of research overseeing KYMA’s product and service development, stated, “Since completing the product development of the KHK-21 two years ago, we have conducted a 1.5-year field test with industry professionals to verify actual operational capability, durability, and suitability for various field measurement environments. We actively incorporated feedback from this testing into development, implementing features such as automatic purging, heating and drying functions, application of a high-capacity battery to extend equipment usage time, improved usability under extreme cold conditions, and a machine learning-based user movement tracking system that supports energy and thermal management. These continuous improvements have enhanced the product’s completeness. The PADO platform, which reduces the paperwork and management burden for field workers, was also developed with a research and development focus prioritizing the resolution of measurement personnel’s difficulties.” He added, “Going forward, we will continue to focus on field-centered measurement equipment development, advancement of service platforms, digital transformation of measurement devices, and other innovative R&D centered on the field.”

Meanwhile, KYMA Co., Ltd. is actively seeking overseas market expansion in response to the growing political, economic, and social issues related to the environment worldwide. As of June 2023, starting with the North American region, preparations have begun to expand local sales networks in various Asian countries including Japan, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Reflecting the heightened local interest in the 'KHK-21,' KYMA is establishing and executing an aggressive overseas expansion strategy, including participation in overseas local exhibitions. Furthermore, through continuous product development and research?such as expanding measurable substances beyond moisture content to include nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, and enhancing durability through equipment modularization?KYMA aims to establish itself as an innovative eco-solution company.
