"Even if Roh Hoe-chan Were Alive, There Would Have Been No Unification"
Former Democratic Party leader Song Young-gil made a statement ahead of the 5th anniversary of the late Justice Party leader Roh Hoe-chan, saying, "If it were Roh Hoe-chan, there would have been unification," which was criticized by former Justice Party Policy Committee Chairman Park Won-seok as "someone who would say or do anything to defend himself."
On the 27th, former Policy Committee Chairman Park said on CBS's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show,' "Recently, the prosecution has been frequently fabricating evidence, and to support his own claims, he brought up the tablet PC fabrication theory. Even the People Power Party does not make such claims," he said.
Former leader Song recently mentioned the 'prosecution tablet PC fabrication theory' advocated by Byun Hee-jae, sparking controversy. Prosecutor General Lee Won-seok also said, "It is surprising and regrettable that someone who served as the Democratic Party leader is now claiming fabrication theories."
The tablet PC fabrication theory was claimed by Choi Soon-sil and essentially denies the impeachment of former President Park Geun-hye. Former Policy Committee Chairman Park said, "I was quite shocked to see some hardcore candlelight protesters and others bring up claims like those of Byun Hee-jae. Is there any self-contradiction like that?" He added, "Even within the Democratic Party, people shake their heads when they hear such remarks from someone who was once the party leader."
Former Policy Committee Chairman Park said, "He is creating a frame of himself as being oppressed by prosecutorial dictatorship, shifting the responsibility for the last presidential election defeat onto the Justice Party and Sim Sang-jung, and even dragging in the late Roh Hoe-chan," adding, "This is a great insult to the deceased, and even if Roh were alive, I am confident that there would have been no unification with the Democratic Party, which trampled election reform through satellite parties."
He said, "And while unification with Roh Hoe-chan might be conceivable, unification with candidate Lee Jae-myung is something I dare not imagine," adding, "So I thought former leader Song was a strange person, and to tell you what actually happened in the election camp at the time, there was no proposal for unification whatsoever."
