HMM announced on the 27th that it has launched a new container service bound for India and the Mediterranean.
This route connects Northeast Asia with India and the Mediterranean and is operated solely by HMM. The first departure is scheduled from Busan on August 6, with a total round trip duration of 84 days. HMM plans to deploy 11,000 TEU-class container ships and others.
The new FIM service ports of call are Busan - Gwangyang - Shanghai - Ningbo - Shekou - Singapore - Port Klang (Malaysia) ? Kattupalli (India) - Nhava Sheva (India) - Mundra (India) - Karachi (Pakistan) ? Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) - (Suez Canal) ? Damietta (Egypt) ? Piraeus (Greece) ? Genoa (Italy) ? Valencia (Spain) ? Barcelona (Spain) - Piraeus - Damietta - (Suez Canal) - Jeddah ? Karachi ? Mundra ? Nhava Sheva ? Kattupalli ? Singapore ? Dalian Bay ? Busan.
An HMM official stated, “Recently, the Indian market has been enjoying a boom with an annual growth rate exceeding 7%, one of the highest levels worldwide, attracting significant attention in the global economy. In addition to the existing container routes centered on the US and Europe, we will expand services to emerging markets such as India to strengthen our network.”
