Jeong Yoo-jeong, who searched for 'filicide'... "Great disappointment and betrayal toward my father"

Three Days Before the Crime, Expressed Disappointment to Father and Demanded Apology
When Rejected, Threatened "Will Do Something Serious"

The brutal murder method of Jeong Yujeong (23), who killed a peer woman she met through a tutoring app, mutilated the body, and abandoned the corpse, has been revealed. It also newly emerged that she had made statements to her father predicting the murder three days before the crime.

According to the prosecution on the 27th, Jeong Yujeong stabbed the victim's entire body 111 times with a weapon at the time of the crime. It was also revealed that before abandoning the victim's body, she mutilated related parts to avoid fingerprint identification.

Additionally, according to a JTBC report the previous day, Jeong Yujeong made statements predicting the crime during a two-hour phone call with her father three days before the incident. She expressed resentment to her father about her difficult circumstances and demanded an apology, but it was not accepted.

Then, she reportedly said things to the effect of "I am planning to do something big, and if I do it, it will be uncontrollable," and "I will die after doing it."

Earlier, Jeong Yujeong testified to the prosecution that she "felt betrayed by her father's remarriage" and "was frustrated having to continue living with her incompatible grandfather." It appears she felt betrayal and frustration while living apart from her parents and with her grandfather since childhood. After failing college entrance and civil service exam preparations, traces of her searching for "parricide" were also found.

As a result of the prosecution's psychological analysis of Jeong Yujeong, it was revealed that "due to an unfortunate upbringing, family conflicts, failures in college admission and employment, she needed a target to express the anger accumulated since childhood, and combined with a psychopathic personality, it led to the crime."

Also, during the prosecution's search and seizure process, a memo stating "I won't be satisfied unless they die" was confirmed. The psychological analysis suggests this supports the motive for the crime, indicating that she intended to harm a third party to cause pain to her father, from whom she craved affection.

Meanwhile, the Busan District Prosecutors' Office special investigation team arrested and indicted Jeong Yujeong on charges of murder, corpse mutilation, corpse abandonment, and theft on the 21st. Jeong Yujeong is currently using a solitary confinement room at Busan Detention Center and is reported to have appointed a public defender ahead of the trial.
