The 11th Gyeongbuk Governor's Cup Civil Servants Badminton Tournament, aimed at revitalizing and fostering camaraderie among badminton clubs of civil servants from Gyeongbuk Province and 20 cities and counties, was successfully held from the 23rd to the 24th at the Gimcheon Indoor Gymnasium and other venues, with over 350 players participating.

The tournament was hosted by Gyeongbuk Province and organized by Gimcheon City, conducted in a city and county knockout format. As a result, Pohang City secured its third consecutive championship, following the previous tournament, becoming the second team to achieve a three-peat after Sangju City, which won from the 3rd to the 6th tournaments.
Pohang City has risen to become the top badminton powerhouse in Gyeongbuk after 16 years since the founding of its workplace badminton club.
Go Chang-wook, president of the Pohang City Hall Badminton Club, said, “Our Pohang City’s three consecutive victories were likely due to the excellent teamwork stemming from the strong camaraderie among employees,” adding, “I am proud to elevate the honor of Pohang City as a member of Pohang.”
