Gyeonggi-do Utilizes Data Analysis for Provincial Administration... This Year Focuses on Employment, Transportation, and Housing Maintenance Gyeonggi-do New Data Analysis Project Kickoff Meeting Report

Gyeonggi Province is promoting the establishment of policies that residents can feel by analyzing optimal signal systems considering employment conditions of companies and workers within industrial complexes, traffic characteristics, and living conditions in maintenance release zones.

On the 26th, Gyeonggi Province held a kickoff meeting for the '2023 New Data Analysis Project' for objective and scientific policy establishment using data at the former provincial government building.

Through this project, Gyeonggi Province plans to implement scientific administration based on data by conducting three new tasks related to provincial policies in the fields of employment, traffic, and living conditions that require data analysis.

First, Gyeonggi Province will analyze employment status such as the current situation of companies and workers within industrial complexes and analyze working conditions and commuting patterns of young workers. The analysis scope is industrial complexes located in Ansan-si. After understanding the status within the industrial complexes, the plan is to utilize objective indicators such as improving working conditions to establish support policies for companies and young workers.

In addition, to improve the traffic environment in Hwaseong-si, the province plans to analyze regional traffic systems and create optimal signal systems for intersections. This task aims to derive optimal signal systems for each intersection through analysis of traffic volume and traffic accident status by traffic zones at intersections and to establish policies for improving traffic environments and facilities to reduce traffic accidents. Gyeonggi Province will expand the signal system optimization analysis model through this data analysis to other cities and counties within the province.

Gyeonggi Province will also promote the establishment of management plans for maintenance release zones and review the suitability of urban regeneration projects.

The province plans to complete the development of three models by November and jointly utilize them with cities and counties.

Lee Su-jae, Director of the AI Big Data Industry Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "This project focused on analysis that can connect the use of public data to improving the quality of life of residents," adding, "We will continue to strive for data-driven administration that produces meaningful results for residents' lives."
