Support for Cooling and Heating Costs for Energy-Vulnerable Groups... Up to 379,600 KRW per Household
Applications Available Until December 29 at Local Community Centers or via the Bokjiro Website
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is implementing the ‘Energy Voucher’ program to support cooling and heating expenses for energy-vulnerable groups.
The ‘Energy Voucher’ is a system that provides energy usage coupons to energy-vulnerable groups who are often excluded from energy use. These vouchers can be used to purchase electricity, city gas, kerosene, LPG, briquettes, etc., or to deduct from utility bills.
The support amount varies by household size, including both summer and winter seasons: ▲ 149,800 KRW for a single-person household ▲ 205,700 KRW for a two-person household ▲ 292,500 KRW for a three-person household ▲ 379,600 KRW for households of four or more members.
The summer voucher is deducted from electricity bills between July 1 and September 30, and eligible households can choose to use up to 45,000 KRW of the winter voucher in advance.
The winter voucher is available from October 11 to April 30 of the following year and can be used to deduct electricity and city gas bills or to pay for kerosene, LPG, briquettes, etc., via the National Happiness Card.
Eligible applicants are households that qualify under the National Basic Livelihood Security Act as recipients of livelihood, medical, housing, or education benefits, and include elderly, infants, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, patients with severe, rare, or intractable diseases, single-parent families, and youth-headed households (including children under foster care).
The application period is until December 29 of this year. Applications can be submitted by visiting the local community center of the applicant’s address or online through the Bokjiro website.
Park Junhee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, stated, “We hope the Energy Voucher will help alleviate the burden of cooling and heating costs for energy-vulnerable groups, even if only a little. We will do our best to ensure that all eligible households receive the benefits without omission.”
