Dobong-gu Provides Free Replacement of 900 LED Lights to 153 Vulnerable Households

Targeting Recipients of Basic Livelihood Security Benefits for Living, Medical, Housing, and Education, as well as the Near-Poor

Recipients Confirmed through Recommendations from Community Service Centers; Replacement Work to Begin at the End of June

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) is conducting a high-efficiency LED lighting replacement project for energy-vulnerable groups.

This project is part of the ‘Energy Welfare Project for Vulnerable Groups,’ which provides free replacement of old general lighting devices with high-efficiency LED lights for households marginalized in energy use. Since 2014, Dobong-gu has replaced and supported LED lighting for 4,792 low-income households up to last year.

LED lighting devices have a longer average lifespan than traditional fluorescent lamps and reduce power consumption by more than 50%, greatly helping vulnerable groups reduce their electricity bills.

Since May, the district has confirmed recipients through recommendations and applications at community service centers. This year, with a budget of 120 million KRW, a total of 900 LED lights will be provided to 153 households.

The replacement work is scheduled to start at the end of June and be completed by the end of July.
