Shin Ji-ae wins in a playoff.


On the 25th, Shin Ji-ae scored 4-under par in the final round of the Earth Mondamin Cup (total prize money 300 million yen) held at Camellia Hills Country Club (par 72) in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, on the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) Tour. She tied with Iwai Akie (Japan) at 13-under par 275 strokes, then secured the victory with a winning birdie on the first playoff hole at the 18th hole (par 5).

This is Shin Ji-ae's second win of the season following the Daikin Orchid Ladies in March, her 28th career victory, and she earned prize money of 54 million yen (approximately 492.8 million KRW). She ranks second in the prize money standings with 119.04 million yen. If Shin Ji-ae adds two more wins, she will reach 30 career victories, which grants a lifetime tour card. With this tournament win, Shin Ji-ae has accumulated a total of 64 wins across Korea, the United States, Europe, and Japan.


Iwai is the twin sister of Iwai Chisato, who blocked Shin Ji-ae's 64th win and won the Suntory Open two weeks ago. She earned her first career victory in April at the KKT Cup Vantelin Ladies Open. Erika Kiguchi finished third (12-under par 276 strokes), and six players including Yoshida Yuri and Koiwai Sakura (both from Japan) tied for fourth place (11-under par 277 strokes). From Korea, Bae Sun-woo finished tied for 18th (7-under par 281 strokes), and Jeon Mi-jung tied for 28th (4-under par 284 strokes) to conclude the tournament.
